Turn this over in your mind...

Andy decided to make some apple and cherry turnovers one morning for breakfast.

The graduate

We flew to Gloucester, Massachusetts last weekend to celebrate Anniliese's graduation.
She celebrated her major milestone by stealing a small child's scooter...

Andy and I took her dog, Sobe, for a walk one morning to a beach.
Here Andy imitates "The Dog Whisperer," and makes Sobe sit.

And I reward her with love. :)

One afternoon Andy and I went with Chris to Rockport, where there are lots of shops.
At one I found the most fabulous pair of sunglasses...

Chris was also tempted to buy this sailor hat, but was somehow able to resist...

Mmm, candy...

Oh fudge!

A nice man in the candy store let Chris and I stir fudge.

S'mores indoors...

Andy, Andrew and I made S'mores indoors at my parents last weekend.

Andy obligingly looked when I called his name. He's nice.

(Yes, that is Rudolph pulling Santa's sleigh on the mantel...it's Christmas every day there apparently...squeeee!)

Andrew thought this would be a cool picture. I don't know that Andy agreed...

Mmm, s'mores...

Smooch!

Oh, and for those who remember my little brother Stevie...

He's not so little anymore. All grown up. Sniff.

And he likes to pick on Andrew...sigh.

Cooking fools...

Last night Andy and I took a free class at Cooking Fools in Chicago. Andy's company did the design work for Cooking Fools and Nick Faitage, the owner, asked if we wanted to attend one of his classes for free since he had some openings. We picked the brunch class. The menu consisted of shirred eggs, popovers, Dutch baby, homemade sausage, an egg and potato quiche and bloody Mary's.

I model the fabulous aprons: (I was sad I couldn't take it home)

I volunteered to mix up the sausage. The recipe called for ground turkey, a diced green apple, sage and rosemary. It was super mushy, but so therapeutic. :)

The infamous Dutch baby. Nick sprinkled powdered sugar on top and we squeezed lemon on top of that:

Mmm, popovers:

The quiche. (We thought it would make a good Christmas dish):

Shirred eggs: (ham, eggs, cream, swiss cheese)
